Bill Cosby's wife has called for an investigation
into the judge presiding over the comedian's trial - one week before
he is due to be sentenced.
Camille Cosby filed a complaint against Judge Steven O'Neill in
Pennsylvania on Monday, according to US media reports.
The motion accuses O'Neill of hiding a rivalry with former District
Attorney Bruce Castor, who decided in 2005 not to go forward with
charges against Cosby.
Cosby's defence team are saying O'Neill's decision to take Cosby's
case to trial was to get back at Castor.
"My husband was improperly prosecuted in a trial presided over by an
unethical judge," Cosby's wife told The New York Times.
The 81-year-old former star of " The Cosby Show" was found guilty by a
jury of three counts of aggravated indecent assault in a trial in
April.
He is facing up to ten years in prison for each of the three counts.
Cosby's age and the fact that the trial referred to incidents that
took place in 2004 could mean he is given a shorter sentence.
His defence lawyers also intend to appeal his conviction. Cosby is
under house arrest until the sentencing and is wearing a
court-ordered electronic tag.
