Cape Town artists will be pulling out all the stops this weekend as they prepare to put on a show in support of Cape Mental Health.
On Saturday, the second edition of Cape Town in Concert will feature some of the Cape’s most prestigious and celebrated artists.
Local top acts, including Salome, Robin Pieters, Karin Kortje, PJ Twins, Elwira Standili and Vuvu Kumalo, are on the online show’s line-up.
One of the organisers Rozario Brown of Rozario Brown Digital says viewers are going to be spoilt for choice.
“We have some of the Cape’s finest crop on our show, it doesn’t get any better than this and viewers are in for a treat,” he says.
“It will be a musical showdown of note featuring big sound, awesome lighting, amazing voices and many familiar songs.”
“This event aims to showcase Cape Town and the Western Cape as a musical, entertainment and arts haven by creating a platform for our local artists to work during this pandemic and to create employment opportunities for 50 local artists, entertainers, musicians and production crew.”
In 2020, this particular event sold close to 5000 tickets and attracted more than 15 000 viewers from all over South Africa and other parts of the world.
Rozario continues: “We are partnering with Cape Mental Health to place the spotlight on the escalating crisis of youth mental health and teenage suicides.
“This is a growing problem facing our youth in South Africa.
“We are also committed to once again donating a portion of the profits of this event towards the work being done by this organisation.”
Tickets for the musical showcase are available via Quicket at R100.
