Cape Town DJs are clubbing together for a good cause this weekend.
Clubbers That Care is an initiative started by friends Richard Taylor and Theo Bosch, who are teaming up with Tazmin Petersen from JT Foundation.
The duo are hosting an event at Phoenix.CT in Ottery tonight.
The line-up of DJs includes DJ AK, Jason Spikes, Gummi, DJ Renno, Ricky Taylor, Clyde and Carlo Rigz.
The crew says they are doing it for the babies and are appealing to mense to drop off baby essentials and basic grocery needs that will be donated to Hannah’s Place of Safety in Mitchells Plain.
The venue opens at 5pm and will run as usual until closing time.
Theo told the Daily Voice the initiative to start Clubbers That Care came from identifying a need in communities.
“We look for an NGO and nominate them and do an analysis of what they need,” he says.
“We then arrange a party with a host of DJs and invite patrons to bring clothing, non-perishables and donations for the chosen establishment, after the party we take all proceeds to the designated NGO and hand it over.

“We do this up to four times a year and the aim is to help those in need by using our profession as DJs to help those in need.”
Patrons are asked to bring the following items: boys’ and girls’ clothing; vests; growers; warm clothes; baby towels; bibs with clips; warm baby blankets; formula such as Lactogen, Nan or Infacare; toiletries; non-perishable foods or cleaning products.
