Former The Voice SA finalist Keanu Harker is making his mark in the music industry and is releasing his debut single, I Feel It, today.
The muso has written and produced several new tracks, all earmarked for release later this year.
The music video for the debut single will be launched on 11 June.
Keanu, 25, who made it to the Knockout Round (top 32) of The Voice in 2019, tells the Daily Voice: “I Feel It is a very personal song to me which I wrote during a very crazy time in my life.
“There were times where I felt that I should just be a cover artist, performing other artists’ songs because my music was not good enough, or I felt I wasn't ready yet to step out and release the music that I had created.”
The Belhar vocalist and guitarist adds: “I just couldn't stop thinking about how right it felt to be doing this.
“The first line in the song says, ‘Man, I can't lie, I can think about nothing else’, and that’s literally what pushed and inspired me to write this song.
“I had to convince myself that I am good enough and I am ready, and that my music will be relatable to those listening.”
Keanu’s style of music includes R&B, pop, soul, funk and gospel.
He will be performing his new material at a series of launch events in June. Check out his social media for dates and venues.
The I Feel It launch will be held at the Roxy Revue Bar today at 8pm. Tickets cost R150.
The single will be available on all digital platforms.
