They could be the oldest set of living twins in the Cape, after reaching a milestone 80-years-old.
Benjamin and James Cole celebrated their birthday on 23 October.
Despite living 289 kilometres apart, the brothers made an effort to spend their special day together.
Benjamin lives in Westridge, Mitchells Plain, while James resides in Riversdale.
Showing a photograph of themselves when they were just five years old, Benjamin says he is the older twin by two minutes and also the quieter one, while James likes to rek his bek.
Benjamin, who was a long distance driver and a delivery man for a pharmacy, has been married to his wife Grace, 76, for 57 years. They have three children aged, 59, 47 and 45, as well as eight grandchildren.
On 23 October, Benjamin and Grace travelled to Riversdale to spend the special day with James and his wife, Rose, 81.

The couple has five children, the eldest of whom is 60, and 11 grandchildren.
Benjamin says he believes they can possibly be the oldest living twins.
“We are two brothers and two sisters, aged 78 and 65,” he says.
“I do think we can be the oldest living twins.”
Grace planned their birthday party and their children arranged a beautiful white cake.
She adds: “James is the outspoken one and Benjamin has always been quiet.
“Benjamin used to compete in darts and we always went to dances together.”
Benjamin laughs and says James was always the fighter.
WAY BACK: The twins at five years
And Grace says twins now run in their family.
“Benjamin and James were the only twins in their family and now one of the great-grandchildren has a set of twins,” she says.
James became wheelchair-bound at the age of 51, after suffering a stroke.
“I have to be at Groote Schuur Hospital once a year and my brother and I always make sure we see one another and we make sure we speak to each other daily,” he says.
“We still have that close bond.”
