Trevor Noah has launched a crowdfunding campaign on BackaBuddy to raise R2 million, which he will match, for his recently launched Trevor Noah Foundation.
The aim of the foundation is to achieve a 100% transition rate of the matric students into continued education.
“For me, I’ve come to realise the secret is great teachers,” he says.
For its pilot project, the foundation has been working with orphaned and vulnerable learners in Grades 9 to 12 at New Nation School in Vrededorp.
Some lucky donors stand the chance to win VIP Tickets to the Global Citizen Festival on 2 December, a signed copy of Trevor’s memoir, Born a Crime, or tickets to Trevor’s next comedy show in South Africa.
