Halle Berry will direct her first film, called Bruised.
She will also star in the skop-en-donner flie k.
Her directorial debut will be another first for the 52-year-old star, who is the first and only black woman to have won a Best Actress Academy Award, for Monster’s Ball in 2002.
She is also producing the project – a martial arts drama – which is scheduled to start production in March 2019.
The film revolves around a disgraced MMA fighter who finds herself having to deal with the return of her six-year-old son whom she walked out on years before.
She sets out to resurrect her career and face one of the rising stars of the MMA as she looks to become the mother her son deserves.
The actress, who recently wrapped filming opposite Keanu Reeves in the third John Wick film, will work with that franchise’s fight choreography team for Bruised.
The role should fit Halle like a glove as she maintains a strict workout and eating plan.
Every Friday, she takes to her Instagram to post fitness and diet tips and shares a video of herself working out with her trainer, Peter Lee Thomas.
