The Jaguares will enter Saturday’s Super Rugby quarterfinal against the Lions with nothing to lose, according to coach Mario Ledesma.
Not having won in South Africa this year, Ledesma says his charges will come out guns blazing at 3.05pm at Ellis Park.
The men from Argentina are coming off back-to-back defeats in South Africa, having lost to the Bulls and the Sharks in recent weeks.
Defeat to the Bulls two weeks ago ended a seven-match winning streak.
And of their upcoming encounter, the former Argentina hooker tells TimesLive: “We don’t have a good record against South African teams in South Africa and we haven’t won here this year.
“They [the Lions] have been the best South Africa team, but we’ve got nothing to lose. It’s our first time here and they’re favourites, but we’ll go all guns blazing and see what happens.”
