It’s six points or bust for South Africa in their next 2019 Afcon qualification test next month.
Bafana Bafana take on minnows the Seychelles home and away on October 10 and 13 and skipper Thulani Hlatshwayo says he wants nothing less than a full house of log points.
Bafana are currently joint top of Group E with Libya on four points after two games.
But after beating giants Nigeria in their opening qualifier last year, Saturday’s goalless draw with Libya in Durban was a massive disappointment.
And captain Tyson says beating the Indian Ocean islands is non-negotiable.
The Wits defender says: “The games against Seychelles are do-or-die for us.
“Nigeria beat Seychelles at the weekend so they are now breathing down our necks on the points table so we need all six points off Seychelles before we host Nigeria and face Libya away in our remaining qualifiers.”
The versatile backliner, however, is proud of his manne's defensive work to keep another clean sheet in the campaign, after beating Nigeria 2-0.
He adds: “At the back, we did well against the tall Libyan strikers, so I am happy from a defensive perspective.”
Stuart Baxter’s team struggled to break through the Libyan defence after bafflingly playing carpet football on a heavy pitch.
Tyson adds: “Libya came to South Africa looking for a draw as could be seen by how deep they played.
“In the build-up to the match, we practised against such a style of play against Amazulu and we got it right there, but not in the match situation against Libya.
"Defensively we are solid but against Libya, we didn’t really create enough goal-scoring chances.
“Let’s take the point and move forward.”
