Teko Modise has taken up a new “executive” role at Cape Town City.
Modise hung up his boots at the end of the last season and decided to continue his two-year association with the Citizens.
And City owner John Comitis revealed what new course "the Navigator" will be taking as public relations officer.
Comitis tells Kickoff: “Teko is working, he has already started.
“He is the Executive PRO, public relations in terms of matters of sponsors and the technical matters. He is an all-rounder on every aspect.
“He goes to the fans, becomes an ambassador, we are very happy with him you know.
“He gets involved in all the main issues regarding the club, and you know he will also assist me on the technical direction of the club.”

With the former Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana ace taking on “technical” responsibilities, it’s implied that he will be involved in how City want to play.
Whether he works alongside coach Benni McCarthy in the first team set-up remains to be seen.
But City have an MDC side and extensive scouting network in the Mother City region and Modise could be key in developing players as well as showing up at sponsor events and engaging with fans.
