Siya Kolisi and his Stormers teammates will look to draw inspiration from the Springboks’ win over New Zealand last year when they face the Hurricanes on Saturday.
Having led the national team to a 36-34 win over the world champions at the Westpac Stadium - the same venue for Saturday’s Super Rugby clash - Kolisi believes his franchise team can do the same.
He says: “The biggest thing is the mental thing; it’s going out there and believing you’re going to do well.
“If you go out there doubting yourself, you’ve already lost.
“Hopefully it will help us that some of the guys did win over there [last year].”
The captain is also adamant that the Stormers shouldn’t change their approach much.
Having conceded a total of only four tries in their last three matches, Kolisi believes they should have the same attitude on defence against the Canes.
He explains: “We prepare the same way for every single team - we’re not going to change our preparation just because we are going to New Zealand.
“We’re not going to go out there and think this is going to be a different side.
“We’re going to work as hard as we can and make sure we make our tackles like we’ve been doing.”
