The Springboks finally enjoyed a happy ending on their tour of the UK, coming from behind to finish off France 29-26 in Paris on Saturday night.
Having suffered heartbreak in their 12-11 defeat to England at Twickenham last weekend, South Africa scored the match-winning try via hooker Bongi Mbonambi in injury time to seal the deal.
Coach Rassie Erasmus is impressed with his charges’ killer instinct and praised the guts they showed to bury their hosts.
He says: “It was stressful, but it’s a much better feeling than last week. "You always say want to learn lessons and implement it in the next game.
"We learned a lot from last week and it’s nice to get a reward from that. It wasn’t the most clinical performance, but it was gutsy enough.”

He adds: “Coming back from a lead like that - we’ve done it a few times this year where we’ve been behind quite early in the match.
“This scoreline just happened before and after halftime, that sometimes make it tough to catch up - especially when the rain came down.
“It was not a perfect performance, but I thought we learned from last weekend in handling the pressure and the big moments better.”
