Even though the transfer window has been open, it’s been the movement of coaches that has been the most talked about.
As interesting as the search for the new Bafana coach, are the rumours doing the rounds about a new coach for Orlando Pirates.
The Buccaneers have been without a boss since Muhsin Ertugral resigned after the 6-1 loss to SuperSport United in November.
One of the more interesting candidates, if you believe the media, is Benni McCarthy.
The former Bucs striker just got his Uefa A diploma last week.
According to Benni, he could have started a level up, a B licence, as he is a former player. But he wanted to start from the bottom.
Many might say the Pirates job is too big for him as a first timer, but I think he would take it in a heartbeat.
And he would automatically have the respect of all the players because they know what he is capable of and what he has achieved.
I don’t think he or Pirates would have anything to lose, to be honest.
It would certainly be an interesting move IF it did happen.
