A mom accused of kidnapping her own kid appeared in court yesterday.
The mom, whose name is known to the Daily Voice and can't be named for legal reasons, and a co-accused - at the centre of the case in which the mom's one-month-old baby was kidnapped - entered the dock at Durban Magistrates' Court with their heads hung low.
Both were remanded and are to appear again tomorrow.
A third female suspect is yet to appear.
The magistrate said the remand was needed to extract DNA samples and to finalise charges.
The mom also needed to make alternative living arrangements should she apply for bail.
The infant was “abducted” in an alleged hijacking in Durban on Friday afternoon.
The mom told cops two men had forced her and her eight-year-old son out of their car and sped off with her baby inside.
The mom's car was found, but the baby and her baby seat was gone.
Cops later set up a roadblock and arrested three people, including the mom.
The baby was found unharmed.
