It has been three months since the murder of 17-year-old Carly Isaacs from Mitchells Plain and there have been no arrests.
This week, the teen’s distraught family told the Daily Voice that cops were more focused on the Coronavirus lockdown than investigating murder cases.
In March 2020, Carly- who attended Christ the Redeemer Church- returned to her Westridge home shortly after 9.15am to collect her robe for the second service.
KILLED: Carly Isaacs
Her father Allistair Isaacs, who is an e-hailing taxi driver, was sleeping after completing a shift.
He woke up and was on his way to the toilet when he found her sitting on a chair in the TV room and called out her name.
When she didn’t respond, he touched her shoulder and saw blood.
Realising his daughter had been stabbed, he called the police and paramedics.
Carly’s Samsung cellphone and the house keys were reported missing.
In a statement to the Daily Voice this week, the family said: “She was an innocent soul, fun-loving, and loved church and was a sports person.
“Teammates of Westridge Yankees waited for her later that
morning, but they were greeted with [the] bad news of her death.
“It’s been three months on 15 June, with no new evidence and any arrest, as Covid-19 has slowed down an investigation.
‘The family is left in the dark by what had happened. There has been no answers, no word, no witnesses.
“We, the family, appeal to anyone with information to please contact the police with information.”
The police did not respond to Daily Voice queries by time of publish.
