A hartseer dad believes a man, who is currently out on bail, is behind his daughter’s murder.
Elijah Poole’s 22-year-old daughter Tiffany van Wyk was shot dead on the corner of Debden and Balvenie Road, Elsies River, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
“She had been threatened about 10 weeks ago, and now she is dead.
“We know the man who said he would kill my daughter and he came and begged us not to proceed with the charges we laid against him as his bail would be revoked,” Elijah says.
“We dropped the charges and we didn’t think this would follow.”
Elijah says Tiffany was killed while looking for her baby sister.
“My 17-year-old daughter sneaked out of the house and I think she went to a house party, so she went out to look for her.
“When Tiffany was standing on Debden Road, she was shot twice in the head.
“She died instantly, she was taken away from her two-year-old daughter,” he explains.
“We have no choice but to believe that the people who killed her are with the man who threatened her life before.”
The devastated man says the government needs to step up.
“Epping Forest is one of the dangerous places to be, you never know when the gangsters will shoot.
“We can’t go to certain areas because we belong to this side of the turf, we have nothing to do with gangs but we are affected.
“The government needs to do better, our coloured people are not taken seriously and yet we die everyday and we are killed by the people we know.”
Police spokesperson FC van Wyk says cops are investigating a possible gang-related murder.
