The trial of the teen accused of raping and killing 14-year-old Camron Britz of Ocean View could not begin because there is no judge available.
Yagah Robyn, 19, who is Camron's cousin, made a brief appearance at the Western Cape High Court on Monday where his trial was due to start.
But family members heard the matter could not proceed because there was no judge to preside over the trial.
The case was postponed to Wednesday, May 9.
The young man who is imprisoned at Pollsmoor Prison is allegedly expected to make certain admissions.
Robyn allegedly lured Cameron into the bush along Slangkop Street, Ocean View on July 1 last year.
Camron's body was found in bushes
Cameron’s half-naked body was discovered on Sunday, July 2 by her 11-year-old brother.
On the same day, cops discovered a bunk in the bush near the scene, believed to be Robyn’s lair.
Camron went missing after she was supposed to sleep over at a friend’s home. She also predicted her own death in poems she wrote weeks before the incident.
Robyn is also facing sexual assault (child molestation) charges at the Wynberg Magistrate's Court which had previously been provisionally withdrawn against him in 2015.
The case involves young boys.
