An unidentified man is believed to have died on Friday after he was knocked by a train at Heathfield Station.
The incident happened just after 8am and he is believed to be in his 20s and from Parkwood.
A witness said: “We saw the train coming and couldn’t wait to board because, as usual, Metrofail. However, the next minute there was screeching and people on the platform started running and screaming.
“I saw this man lying on the grass, someone closed his face because people were already taking pictures.
“It looked as if his body had been twisted and most of his bones broken.”
It is not clear whether the man survived.
Metrorail spokesperson Riana Scott said an investigation is underway.
