Kensington residents were left shocked after a man was killed and another left severely injured after they were robbed in two separate incidents in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Police say the first incident took place about 5.30am in Crematorium Road.
The 35-year-old victim was approached by unknown men and was stabbed and robbed.
The man suffered serious injuries to his head and was rushed to hospital with the knife still lodged in his head.
He remains critical in hospital.
About an hour later, a 40-year-old man was attacked in 12th Street.
He was stabbed in the chest and robbed and died at the scene.
The victim has been identified as Achmat Mallum by CPF chairperson for the area, Erica Isaacs.

She said the men’s families were not ready to speak to the media and asked for privacy.
She said both men had been on their way to work when they were attacked.
She blamed local skollies who have targeting working people in the morning while it’s still dark.
“The CPF is distressed at the news of these violent incidents and will continue to assist in ensuring safety within our community by working with the police to ensure the men responsible are found and brought to justice,” Isaacs says.
Police spokesperson, Captain FC van Wyk, says: “A 40-year-old male was stabbed in his chest and sadly succumbed to his wound. He was on his way to work in 12th Street, Kensington, [yesterday] morning.
“A second male, 35, was seriously injured after he sustained a stab wound to his head. He was rushed to hospital for medical treatment with the knife still lodged in his head.
“The victim was stabbed in Crematorium Road, Kensington, on his way to work. The motive for these incidents appears to be robbery.”
