The winner of the R145 million Powerball reported for work on Monday.

The Mpumalanga engineer, 34, says he learned on Saturday, 4 August, that he’d won the Lotto after checking the National Lottery website.

“I was in shock when I realised that I had won,” he said.

He stashed the ticket in his sock for safekeeping and went to work on Monday.

He and his wife, in matching outfits, went to the Ithuba offices in Sandton on Tuesday.

The man plans to start his own business and described himself as a careful spender.

He had spent R20 on his winning ticket.
