WIPED OUT: Frederick “Hansie”’ Heynes killed in Mitchells Plain

Cops were called to Korfbal Street, Beacon Valley, Mitchells Plain at 6.40pm on Sunday where they found the body of Frederick "Hansie" Heynes, 37 inside a white Toyota.

Heynes is believed to be the leader of the Mongrels gang and was apparently released from prison on Wednesday, April 12.

Police sources say Heynes was sitting inside the white Toyota Corolla with four other alleged Mongrels when gunshots went off.

Heynes was shot in the head and died instantly. It is believed Heynes may have been killed by a person known to him.

The four men got out of the car and fled in another vehicle. Cops have since taken in the vehicle for forensic testing.

Shocked community members watched as Heynes’ body was placed into a morgue van. It is unclear where inside of the vehicle Heynes had been sitting when he was shot.

“A murder case was registered for investigation, and the suspects are yet to be arrested.
