Patricia de Lille and a few GOOD men painted the town orange on Friday as they tried to woo the youth into voting for them.
De Lille, new party member Alistair Izobell and members of her party launched their ‘Battle Bus’ for the upcoming general elections on 8 May and went club hoping to promote GOOD.
Patrons at MOJO Market in Sea Point, Zer021 Social Club in Zonnebloem and Long Street were chuffed to see the ex-Cape Town Mayor doing the rounds.
Liam Paige, 23, from Wynberg says he was surprised to see a politician going to these lengths to garner votes and had to “look thrice just to make sure it’s really Aunty Pat because I’ve never seen this happen before”.
Alistair and De Lille met and greeted youngsters during a walkabout in Long Street, but when the clock struck 12 am they got into their carriage and rushed off to Club Zer021.
SOCIALISING: Pat taking selfies
Party-goers asked De Lille where they could sign up and how they can get involved.
Aunty Pat had a lekker jol on the dance floor and socialised with the youth, taking selfies and chatting the night away.
Roberto de Faria, from Zer021, says patrons enjoyed the surprise visit from GOOD.
“The club was busy as usual and patrons were having a lekker party. The next thing we see, Aunty Pat is in the club, that was shocking.”
De Lille tells the Daily Voice: “I had a wonderful time interacting with so many young people who have so much energy and who are eager to play their part in our society. The youth are the future of our country.”
