Bishop Lavis singer Regina-Lee Thompson has released her debut single and music video just in time for the festive season.
The Amapiano track is called In My Bones and promises to be a hit song on radio, says the 24-year-old songstress.
Regina has travelled to Spain with her music and worked in the Barnyard Theatre for two years, where she made a name for herself over the years.
But due to the pandemic, she has had to return home and focus on original music.
The meisie vannie Lavis says she started singing at 12 years old: “I started singing at the age of 12. I entered my first competition at Spur N1 City when I was a teen and I came second,” she says.
“Then I won an opportunity to go to music school for a month where Idols winner, Berry, was my music teacher.”
Regina says her debut single is a festive love song about “a new type of love entering your life”.
“The feeling of uncertainty, how could you be sure, feeling all types of emotion in your head, toes, soul,” she says.
The music video was filmed in Stellenbosch, Langebaan and Vredenburg.
“Since the music video is about how I’m feeling, we wanted to combine it with nature,” she says.
“Love is all about being able to enjoy nature with the one you love, those quiet places that calm the spirit.
“We wanted to create a festive vibe with people dancing, as we want people to enjoy themselves while listening to the song.
“In essence, I wanted the song to reflect what’s happening in my life at the moment.
“I wanted to express the way I was feeling and I wanted it to be catchy and relevant for people to sing along with.”
The song is available on all digital platforms.
