Taylor Swift won the gong for Artist Of The Year at the American Music Awards held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The Shake If Off hitmaker, 30, bagged three awards on the night, including Favourite Music Video and Favourite Female Artist.
This is Taylor’s third consecutive Artist Of The Year award and her 32nd award over her career, which is the record for ‘most ever’ at the AMAs.
She wasn’t at the event, announcing via satellite: “The reason I’m not there tonight is I’m actually re-recording all of my old music in the studio where we originally recorded it. So it’s been amazing. And I can’t wait for you to hear it.”
Canadian singer The Weeknd and Dan+Shay also won three gongs each.
The Weeknd rocked up with his face in bandages as a warning against drunk driving, which he sings about in his After Hours album.
Other winners include Megan Thee Stallion for Favorite Song - Rap/Hip-Hop award for her controversial collaboration, WAP, with Cardi B.
undefinedAnd Doja Cat won Favorite Female Artist - Soul/R&B and the coveted New Artist Of The Year.
With America’s Covid-19 figures permy the highest in the world, organisers stuck to safety protocols with a limited audience.
