It’s not just us South Africans who are seeing in the new year without dop.
Chrissy Teigen has revealed that she is four weeks sober.
But not due to any lockdown regulations - but because she admits she makes her name gat when she’s had one too many.
The mum of two made the admission after posting a video of herself dancing wildly in a high-cut swimsuit on Instagram.
Watching Chrissy, 35, having a jol while on holiday with her family in St Barts, one of her followers commented: “I need whatever drugs you’re on!”
To which the TV personality and cookbook author responded: “Four weeks sober,” followed by prayer emojis and love hearts.
She opened up about her battle with alcoholism in a 2017 interview with Cosmopolitan.
She said: “I was, point blank, just drinking too much. I got used to being in hair and make-up and having a glass of wine.
“Then that glass of wine would carry over into me having one before the awards show. And then a bunch at the awards show.
“And then I felt bad for making kind of an a** of myself to people that I really respected.”
The former Victoria's Secret model also revealed that she was seeking grief counselling after losing her baby son Jack.
Chrissy, who shares Luna, four, and Miles, two, with singer John Legend, shared a tearful clip of herself to social media following one of her sessions.
In October she told her followers: “When I’m old and grey, I will look back on the last two months as being brutal, exhausting, sad, physically challenging, mentally painful b****** of a couple months.”
She said the counselling was helping: “The intense grief and physical pain was gone. My brain was back and my bones, I’m telling you, my bones came back. I will never forget this period in time.”
