The Goliaths from Joburg are taking over the Mother City and Capetonians are loving it.
Jozi comics Goliath and Goliath include Jason, 38, Donovan, 36, and Nicholas, 34, who all share the same surname.
The trio says they are regularly mistaken for brothers.
While Jason and Nicolas are cousins, Donovan is just a random guy whom they met at a comedy club.
The three became close over the years and then formed Goliath and Goliath before opening their own restaurant and venue, called, you guessed it, the Goliath Comedy Club

They recently closed the club to reopen the Melville Comedy Club.
Jason tells the Daily Voice: “We received a good offer to be bought out, which is a smart decision in today’s economy.”
The trio performed at the Cape Town Comedy Club, Premium Sports Bar and Hanover Street this week.

Donovan says: “Cape Town is out of our jurisdiction and so it’s nice to come here sometimes and just be artists.
“At home we have to be responsible for everything, including marketing and production.
“Kurt Schoonraad invited us to come take over his space for a week.”

Jason says people should expect “madness”: “Here you’ll get a married man with kids, a man who recently got married, and one who has a girlfriend. So here are guys in different phases of life, here is a buffet of everything you want, depending on your appetite.”
Nicolas says: “People can kill you by not laughing for your jokes. You need at least eight years of experience before you can start getting to a certain level.”
The Goliaths are at the Cape Town Comedy Club until Sunday and tickets are R100.
