Idols Season 14 winner Yanga Sobetwa is embracing her gospel roots with the release of a new single on Friday.
The fresh new material features the award-winning Soweto Gospel Choir and Amanda Black, and is a blend of South African sound, called Promise Land.
“I am super excited about the single and can’t wait for it to change and influence people’s hearts,” says Yanga.
Yanga won over the hearts of South Africans when she competed in Idols South Africa 2018.
Because of her gospel background and growing up singing in church, Yanga is the first Idol to release a gospel album.
“I’m different and I have a different journey I’m hoping to pursue.
“I trust people will love the music I release and I hope it inspires people to have a shift of positivity in every aspect of their lives.
“I’m blessed and honoured to be collaborating with these big names in the industry and together we will make flames.”

The 17-year-old Delft meisie who is also completing matric, is currently busy with her album which will be released in May.
“This single is off the album, featuring pop-style music with inspirational messages.
“It is also an inspirational anthem of hope and strength. It was birthed out of a need to show support to each other, uniting people through the medium of music.” says Yanga.
Her debut single Scars was released in November last year and reached number one on iTunes and trended on radio.
She’s also the first Idol to hit a million views on her performance.
