British film-maker Danny Boyle will no longer direct
the 25th James Bond film "due to creative differences," the producers
announced on Tuesday.
Production of the as-yet untitled film had been set to begin at
British-based Pinewood Studios in December. It is unclear who will
replace Boyle and whether the production schedule will be affected.
It is set to star Daniel Craig in his fifth outing as agent 007.
A statement on the official 007 Twitter account said: "Michael G
Wilson, Barbara Broccoli and Daniel Craig today announced that due to
creative differences Danny Boyle has decided to no longer direct Bond
25."
When those producers announced in May that Boyle would direct, they
said it was based on a screenplay from John Hodge, best known for his
work on Boyle's 1996 film " Trainspotting."
The Bond film will be released in Britain first, in October 2019, and
in the United States the following month, EON Productions, Metro
Goldwyn Mayer Studios and Universal Pictures had said at the time.
