David Beckham has reportedly bailed out his wife’s fashion brand with a £23 million cash injection over the past three years.
The former England footballer, 43, gave Victoria’s company a £4m loan and £6.6m in cash in 2016 to keep her business afloat, reports The Mirror.
The handout comes after Victoria’s business, which owes another of the Beckham’s companies £12.2m from a 2017 loan, filed £10m in losses before Christmas for the year 2017.
Victoria’s designs are worn by among others, Meghan Markle, Kendall Jenner and Lady Gaga, but the company hasn’t broken even in four financial years since 2008.
The losses were previously blamed on “design, marketing and sales” spending by a spokesperson for the Victoria Beckham brand; and resulted in staff cuts in April.
But David, 43, a director at DB Ventures Ltd, made a profit of £23.2m the same year and pocketed £18.75m in dividends.
The ex-Spice Girl’s luxury clothing, glasses and accessories business celebrated its 10th anniversary, but losses have increased by £2m in the last year.
Mail On Sunday reported David wants his wife to take full responsibility for running the company, adding he won’t bail her out again.
The mother-of-four oversees an empire comprising four clothing lines, more than 400 retail outlets in over 50 countries and offices in London and New York.
