Hundreds of mense lined up for their chance at stardom in the SA's Got Talent Cape Town auditions.
The try-outs for e.tv’s popular talent show were held at the Newlands Rugby Stadium on Saturday and Sunday.
The Cape Spy team was there to capture all the emotions before the auditions.
Joshua Daniels, 16, from Delft arrived on Saturday night to be the first in line on Sunday morning for the auditions.
“My dad dropped me off at 8pm on Saturday because I wanted to be first in line,” says Joshua, who specialises in Michael Bublé and old-school hits.
“I spent the night sitting outside with security because I was too excited to sleep and, of course, it was cold.”
Strandfontein duo Mardeeyah , 42, and Jessica Burns, 30, performed a double act.
Jessica was the vocalist while Mardeeyah did a ribbon dance.
Kitted out in a doekie, smart make-up and fur boots, Mardeeyah demonstrated her unique ribbon dance routine before her audition.
“I’m only here to enhance Jessica’s performance with a ribbon dance.
“I do it to the glory of God,” says a shy Mardeeyah.
There was a room propvol talent as hopefuls waited for their turn in the waiting room.
There were singers, rappers, dancers, poets, mime artists, even a bodybuilder, of all ages from the Western Cape and beyond.
Sharon Damons, 19, left her home in George in the early hours of Sunday morning to audition.
“It’s my second time auditioning, but this time I’m not as nervous,” she says.
“I’m here to sing and showcase my talent.”
Buseka Mabaso, 26, from the Eastern Cape arrived In Cape Town on Thursday to be able to audition.
“There is no audition in the Eastern Cape so I came to Cape Town to get a chance,” she says.
Who will make the cut and stand a chance to win the R500 000 prize?
