A teen boy walking home was gunned down in Hillview in a drive-by shooting on Wednesday.
Nathaniel Downes, 16, was shot multiple times on the corners of Rose and Gladiola Road.
The teen who was a Grade 9 learner at Crest Way High School in Steenberg was on his way home when a car came and just opened fire, a witness at the scene said.

Residents in the area confirmed the boy was not a gangster but in fact a “respectful young man”.
Mense rushed to the scene where the teen, dressed in a black tracksuit, lay face down on the ground.
A neighbour said the teen’s mother did not have the heart to come to the scene as she was too devastated.
Less than 20 minutes after Nathaniel’s shooting, more shots went off in the area.
A resident says: “I heard shots going off and then my son came running in, white in his face, they were shooting outside, the look of trauma on his face.”
Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana confirmed a case of murder has been opened, however, no arrests have been made.
