Three Elsies River residents, including a 15-year-old boy, were killed during a shooting on Wednesday night.
According to a source, shortly before 11pm, gunshots rang out in Horizon Court as an unknown gunman chased after the victims in an alleged gang shooting.
The source says when police arrived they found the bodies of Monroe Williams, 15, Adrian Jacobs, 25, and Dominic Adams, 26, near a Wendy house erected behind the flats.
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk says officers found two male victims inside a Wendy house at the back of Horizon Court and one male victim lying at the back of the Wendy house.
“According to information the three victims decided to go for a walk. Witnesses heard gunshots and one of the male victims ran back to the Wendy house,” he says.
“He was followed by one unidentified male suspect and shot again in the Wendy house. Another victim who was sitting in the Wendy house was also shot in the head.”
The source says Monroe and Adrian, who both live in Clarke’s Estate, were both shot in the head and died on the scene while Dominic was shot in the neck and taken to Tygerberg Hospital where he died.
“It is alleged that Adrian was a 26s gang member,” the source says.
Van Wyk says the suspect is unknown at this stage and the circumstances and motive surrounding the incident is under investigation.
“The possibility that the incident is gang-related is not ruled out. Three murder dockets were opened for investigation. The dockets were transferred to the Provincial Detectives team,” Van Wyk explains.
