Three alleged dik dinge of the Junior Cisco Yakkies (JCY) gang have been gunned down in their car in broad daylight in a drive-by shooting.
Moments after the shooting on Thursday, shocked residents flocked to the scene along Eisleben and Morgenster roads in Lentegeur, Mitchells Plain, where the windows of a white Ford Focus were shattered in the attack.
Sources reveal a gang war is brewing after an alleged member of the Fancy Boys was shot in Linaria Street, Lentegeur on Wednesday.
The men in the Ford are said to be top members of the JCY gang and have been identified only as Umer, Boytjie and Imraahn, and are believed to be between the ages of 21 and 43-years old.
Police sources reveal close to 60 empty cartridges were found on the scene.
It’s believed the men stopped at a red robot when gunmen in a white Quantum van opened fire.
The two passengers attempted to flee, but it was too late.
Police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk says cops will investigate whether the incident is gang-related: “The deceased were declared dead on the scene by paramedics.
“It is believed the men were on their way to Mitchells Plain and at the intersection unknown suspect(s) driving in an unknown motor vehicle fired several shots fatally wounding the men.
“A murder case was opened for investigation. The possibility that this incident might be gang-related will be investigated.”
