Western Province on Tuesday announced that promising loose forward Jaco Coetzee has joined English Premiership team Bath.
The 24-year-old Coetzee played 22 times for the Stormers and earned 36 WP caps between the openside flank and No.8 since making his debut at the age of 20.
As a former SA Schools captain, WP would have liked to have held onto the young talent, who has been released from his contract early.
WP Head Coach John Dobson explains: “We did not want to stand in Jaco’s way and we wish him all the best in England with Bath.
“Jaco is an immensely talented player and I am sure he will make a significant impact for his new team.”
Coetzee says of his move: “I am looking forward to applying everything I have learned here when I join my new team and wish the players and coaches everything of the best for the future.”
