Siya Kolisi was yesterday unveiled as a Sharks player after parting ways with Western Province on Sunday after 11 years of service.
In a bitter blow to WP, Kolisi hinted that he joined the Durban-based side after the Cape franchise board failed to strike a deal with Roc Nation – rapper Jay-Z’s powerful sports agency.
Roc Nation are linked to MVM Holdings, the company who were interested in taking over WP, only to see negotiations fail and team up with the Sharks.
This is the beginning of a new chapter for me and my loved ones and I can't wait to get started! Delighted to be part of The Sharks family 🙌![CDATA[]]>🏾 #OurSharksForever

The World Cup-winning Springbok captain says: “I bought into the vision of The Sharks immediately – the energy around the club, the management set-up, the squad and the potential for success was so strong.
“I have always had a desire to be the best, and play with the best, to reach my potential on-and-off the field, and this move is just another step in maximising what I can achieve within my career.
“I arrive with a commitment to give this team everything I have, and I’m thankful to The Sharks for the opportunity.”
