Western Province captain Yaseen Vallie and his teammates were humiliated by an innings and 114 runs in their 4-Day match against the Warriors at St George’s Park on the weekend.
After posting a total of 366 runs in their first innings, thanks in large to Vallie’s opposite number Warriors captain Matthew Breetzke who scored 100, the hosts bowled out the Capetonians for just 79 runs in their first innings before getting almal uit for 173 in the second.
Mthiwekhaya Nabe (3/33) and Tsepo Ndwandwa (3/7) did most of the damage in the first innings, with Wihan Mulder (3/27) returning the best bowling figures in the second innings.
For WP, Vallie with 18 top-scored in the first innings, while Basheeru-Deen Walters with 52 brought some respect to their second innings total with a quick-fire knock after coming in at No.8.
WP also lost their previous match to the Titans by an innings and 139 runs.
