Ajax Cape Town have their knives out for Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) ahead of their must-win PSL promotion playoff match today.
With their PSL status already secure for next season after buying Wits, TTM seem to be playing for spek en boontjies and Ajax has questioned their motivation.
They even congratulated rivals Blacks Leopards, who beat them 3-1 on Saturday, saying in a statement: “If you can’t beat them, join them.
“You are almost back in the PSL league. All the best for your remaining matches.”
It means today’s and Friday’s clash with Black Leopards are must-wins if Ajax are to stake a claim for promotion and Cape coach Calvin Marlin knows they can’t count on TTM to make a fight of it in Monday’s final game against Leopards.
Marlin says: “It’s all up to us to get two positive results in the next two games. Hopefully we can take our chances.
“But obviously the last game we can’t do anything about. I don’t know where TTM will be then.
“I’m sure they’re fighting against us more than against Leopards, especially after what they posted on Twitter, already congratulating Leopards.
“So it’s a bit of fire for us to get one back at them.
“I just hope the boys are up for it now and get that first goal – they shouldn’t think of anything else and let’s give everything.”
