Bafana Bafana star Sibusiso Vilakazi says he and his teammates must bring home the Afcon title and it doesn’t matter how.

After losing their first game of the tournament to Ivory Coast on Monday night, South Africa will have to improve big time.

Their 1-0 loss means they need to break their scoring duck and they need to grab maximum points to be able to end in the top two of Group D or be one of the best third-placed sides.

And Vilakazi knows they need to starting winning in Friday’s 10pm clash with Namibia to stand a chance of getting their hands on the trophy.

He says: “At the moment we are looking at Namibia. So we need to get a response.

“We must get a response in terms of winning, which I think we have to win at all costs.

“I think even when we go to this Afcon, it’s a must-win Afcon for us. It doesn’t matter how it happens, but we must win. I think it’s a point whereby we need to react, we need to win games.”

Safa boss Danny Jordaan gave the players a timely reminder that they will get R320 000 each if they get to the next round at Afcon.

He adds: “We expect them to go to the second round, at least.

“They must at least reach the second round. That’s why our bonus structure is the way it is. There’s no use winning one match and then doing nothing after that.

“Go to the second round, and then we will give each player

R320 000.”
