CAPE Town City boss John Comitis says he will dala what he must to have his club’s PSL promotion-relegation playoffs fate overturned in Wednesday's arbitration hearing at PSL headquarters in Johannesburg.

Comitis is challenging a PSL decision to have the second half of a postponed 23 February game between SuperSport United and Golden Arrows played out last week.

The game - stopped because of floodlight failure at the Lucas Moripe Stadium - ended in a 1-1 draw last Thursday.

It secured a point for SuperSport that  means they ended the season level on points with City, but above the Kapenaars on goal difference.

That means City have to play in the promotion-relegation battle against the second and third-placed Motsepe Foundation Championship clubs Orbit College and Casric Stars.

Comitis is, however, refusing to accept his club’s playoffs fate and will use Article 14.16 of the PSL rules to make his case. According to the rule, the postponed match should have resumed within 48 hours.

Comitis tells Soccer Laduma: “Wednesday is the arbitration. You know, rules are rules, and they are clear... ”

In a separate interview, he is quoted by IOL as saying: “SuperSport defaulted, and they should lose the three points. That’s how football works. We have to challenge this; it was a wrong decision.”
