Pep Guardiola will dominate English football for years to come.
So says former Barcelona boss Terry Venables, who reckons Manchester City winning the Premier League title after rivals Man United lost to West Brom on Sunday, is just the start of the Pep era.
Venables says: “This exceptional title victory is an inspiring example of how to win with elegance, not swagger.
“The only question to be answered is how the others will respond to an even greater challenge after Pep strengthens his squad this close season.”
Barca legend Xavi, who won three La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues under Pep, claims Guardiola proved his doubters wrong in his second season at City.
He says: “It’s a huge achievement for him. There is so much competition in England.
“There are so many teams that can win the league.
“Managers get constantly judged and criticised and he is, if not the best, then one of the best two or three in the world, so the pressure is huge.
“But he has made City champions and he’s done it in a spectacular way.”
