Percy Tau and Lebo Mothiba have been dubbed the next Benni McCarthy by the man himself.
The Cape Town City boss had a stellar career in Europe and became Bafana Bafana's top scorer with 31 goals.
The Hanover Park local is also the only South African to win the Champions League when he helped Jose Mourinho’s Porto take the tournament in 2004, after moving to Ajax Amsterdam as a 20-year-old in 1997.
And in an interview with Kickoff, Benni reckons Bafana attacking talents Tau and Mothiba can have similar success with their careers in Europe and South Africa.
But he adds a word of caution over Tau, who is on loan in the Belgian second division from English Premier League club Brighton.

The 41-year-old says: “I think Percy Tau has all the attributes, quality and ability.
“But those that coach him must give him a specific role: if he’s a No 9, he’s a No 9 - they mustn’t try to turn him into all kinds of players, as it gets confusing.
“So I think we have to make a decision on what Percy Tau is and what we want him to be, and then we put him there because we can’t confuse the kid as he’s got unbelievable qualities and is a great player.
Striker Mothiba, meanwhile, has scored four goals in six appearances and if he continues like that can eclipse Benni’s record.
And Benni says of him: “Then obviously the start that Lebo Mothiba has had at international level, he’s physically strong, he holds the ball well, he has speed and is a very humble kid.”
