Tottenham centreback Toby Alderweireld warns his teammates are in for a moerse defensive test against Barcelona at Wembley on Wednesday night.
The Catalans boast the likes of Luis Suarez, Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele and of course Lionel Messi in attack coming into the Champions League clash.
After losing their opening European Group B clash to Inter Milan, Spurs are desperate to bounce back and get a vital win to kickstart their campaign.
Alderweireld and his manne beat Huddersfield 3-1 in the Premier League last weekend but faced an intense exam of their defence from setpieces.
And the Belgian reckons Barca’s world-famous attack will ask more questions of them.
He says: “Huddersfield was a real test – throw-ins, corners, free-kicks – every set-piece came into the box and I thought we defended very, very well.
“It’s like a game within a game and you have to dig deep for every ball that comes in.
“It’s a test, a mental test, it’s about character and the mentality to win the ball, and concentration.
.
“Obviously, Barcelona will be a totally different game.
“They have world-class talent, we know that.
“We will have to be at the top of our game to get a win but at home, we’ve shown already that we have the team to beat anyone.
“This is a good opportunity to show how strong we are together, mentally as well.”
Meanwhile, coach Mauricio Pochettino is facing an injury crisis after Christian Eriksen was ruled out last night.
Spurs will also be without Dele Alli, who has a hamstring injury, while defender Jan Vertonghen and midfielder Mousa Dembele were made unavailable.
Goalkeeper and captain Hugo Lloris, though, will be back for the clash against the five-time champions.
