Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola believes his side will eliminate Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League on Wednesday.
After losing the first leg of their quarterfinal 1-0 at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last week, Guardiola says his team will bounce back and win the tie at the Etihad Stadium when the two teams clash at 9pm.
The Spaniard explains: “If you ask me what is going to happen, we’ll be in the semifinals; that is what I feel right now.
“It’s what I felt right after the game and when I reviewed the game.
“Maybe I’m wrong but what I feel now, we’ll be in the semifinals. The [first leg] result is not ideal but it’s not a disaster. We are able to score goals and we are going to do it.”
Spurs will be without injured star striker Harry Kane, but City captain Vincent Kompany doesn’t believe this will necessarily weaken the London club.
Kompany says: “When you play Tottenham - or any top six team - they have such a vast squad, such a wealth of talent that if you take one player out, you might lose something but the new player will bring something entirely different to the table.”
Wednesday’s match will be the first of two clashes between the two sides this week as they also square off in the Premier League on Saturday.
