Onto the weekend and I’m going to say a few words on each of the following moments of disrespect: Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis stormed on to the pitch to confront manager Nuno Espirito Santo after their hopes of Champions League football continued to disappear following their draw against relegated Leicester on Sunday.
I can’t say I’ve ever seen that before… It’s so bad, I’m half expecting Nuno to leave.
And what about Trent Alexander-Arnold? A working-class kid brought up on the streets of

Merseyside, who has given is heart and 100 percent every week, helped to win everything for the club and now wants a new challenge at the “biggest” club in the world… and he gets booed by fans at Anfield? Terrible.
Then there is Nicolas Jackson… What a selfish p***k. He disrespected the club, players and fans with his ridiculous challenge in the middle of the park. Chelsea were actually far better with 10 men, in fact the best half of football I’ve seen the Blues play all season.
Moving back to Arteta and the disrespect he publicly showers on his own players... but karma is karma, and he must have felt really disrespected by those Kop fans, who made that hilarious banner “always the bridesmaid never the bride”.
My last moment of disrespect has to be that being shown to Manchester United fans by the players and owners of the club.
There is a small handful (Bruno Fernandes included) who give 100 percent, but the rest have no idea what that badge means.
The owners are far too busy drawing dividends and implementing cost-cutting measures to get the on-field stuff right.
There is Friday night football this week with two all-important (top five) fixtures… It’s Aston Villa v Tottenham and Chelsea v United. On paper United should get hammered. Europe here we come!
Chat next week. Bye, bye.
HELLO my good football people... I trust all is happy and healthy! Okay, I just need to kick off by getting my obsession about Arsenal out the way.
Last week really made me realise why the Gunners have become the most disliked team in England. It’s not just the entitled, arrogance of their fans, it’s a lot more to do with their leader; Mikel Arteta.
You all know I respect what he has done as a coach. Arsenal are one of Europe’s best again, there is no debate about his influence on that. But as mentioned countless times over the last few seasons, his incessant flapping on the sideline and abuse to officials really leaves a sour taste, but following the Champions League semi-final loss in Paris, you realise the man is totally deluded.
Arteta said: “We were the better team over 160 minutes.” No they weren’t. And where does the number 160 come from anyway?
He added: “I don’t think there has been a better team in the competition.” What? Not even Paris Saint-Germain? Take it on the chin son… PSG were the better team at the Emirates and barring the opening 20 in Paris, the best there.
For me, Arteta’s tactics were immature in the second leg. PSG knew he would send his players out in gung-ho fashion and leave huge gaps at the back. This was illustrated a number of times including a one-on-one with the goalkeeper and hitting the woodwork on the counter. PSG could have scored three or four quite easily.
The question remains, should Arteta stay or should the club look for a coach to “take them over the line?” I think had the board sanctioned two signings in January, the season could have been different.
Arsenal’s points tally in the Premier League has dropped from 2.34 per game to 1.9 and fans are generally fed up. I have no doubt he won’t go and I guess owner Stan Kronke will have been at the Parc des Princess on Wednesday night thinking “ we should have gone into the market”.
The greatest thing for me personally is if Chelsea get a top-five finish and win the Conference League, we will have had a more successful season then those damn Gooners.
Briefly on the Europa League, what a great final! I know everyone will call me stupid, but I’m convinced Spurs are going to win it.
Ange Postecoglou said it two years ago and has always stuck by it: “I always win something in my second year”. I am not into mysticism, but I reckon the result is written in the stars!
