Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says the real City are back, ahead of a big week in their Premier League title defence.
Pep saw his champions smash Arsenal 3-1 on Sunday to keep themselves on the coattails of leaders Liverpool, who played West Ham on Monday night.
City were too good for the Gunners, with Sergio Aguero finishing off some superb build-up play to grab himself a hattrick.
And Pep says: “The important thing is to be ourselves.
“At Newcastle [in last Wednesday’s 2-1 defeat] we didn’t recognise our team. The players knew that. [But now] we came back.”
Aguero scored with his head, left and right foot for what was his 10th hattrick and 14th for the club he joined in 2011.
The Argentina ace says: “We wanted to get back on track, playing good football.
“I think today with the service, because we went from the first minute that we scored another early goal, I think we deserved to win.”
That form has given City the belief that they can continue their winning run at Everton on Wednesday night and another big test on Sunday against Chelsea.
But Pep admits that it’s not easy chasing Jurgen Klopp’s Reds, saying: “I prefer to be in the position of Liverpool.
“The pressure is when you are behind and you lose points, it’s tougher.”
