With doubts over the fitness of creative trio Naby Keita, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah, Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson is backing Adam Lallana to step up.
Keita (hamstring) and Mane (broken thumb) aren’t expected to be fit for the 6.30pm Premier League trip to Huddersfield on Saturday, while Salah has some groin muscle troubles and faces a late test.
But Hendo believes that his fit-again Anfield and England teammate can fill their boots.
He says: “He is such a big talent. He is a massive player.
“I feel that we have missed him, both with Liverpool and with England.
“It’s exciting for me to know that when he comes back in, he can take us forward even more.
“There’s not many players that play like Adam. He is unique in that way, how he links the play.”
