Jurgen Klopp has warned Manchester United that Liverpool are coming for them.
The Reds moved within two points of the Red Devils after weekend action saw Liverpool swat Southampton aside and United lose at Newcastle.
Klopp’s manne cruised to a 2-0 win thanks to Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah.
Jose Mourinho’s curse at St James Park continued as they were stunned 1-0 by the Toon, who he has failed to beat in eight trips to Tyneside.
And Klopp believes his Kop Idols will have to fight until the end of the overhaul their great rivals.
The German says: “We have to take whatever we can get – I didn’t know United had lost before the game, but we know we’re not far away, and we play against them at least one more time this season.
“The only thing we can do is to win our games, but it will stay tight until the end.”
Firmino and Salah set up goals for one another in the match, meaning they have a combined total of 49 goals in all competitions for the season.
And Klopp says his dynamic duo are profiting from playing his system.
He adds: “It’s 100 percent that our boys are important for us. I love their skills and attitude, their work rate is outstanding.
“Both profit from our style of play that’s for sure.
“In this strong league, you cannot be third without fantastic players. They are two of them.”
