Jose Mourinho may not be in charge of Manchester United when they go to Chelsea for Saturday’s 1.30pm Premier League kickoff.
And no. It’s not because the Portuguese is getting fired.
It’s because he faces a touchline ban.
This after the Special One was charged by the Football Association (FA) last Tuesday night for swearing down broadcast cameras.
Jose was caught saying “Sons of b!tches” in Portuguese after United’s 3-2 comeback over Newcastle at Old Trafford on October 6.
The FA have given Mourinho until Friday 7pm to respond and if there are no delays in the process, the coach will be banned from returning to Stamford Bridge where he won three Premier League titles.
The Newcastle win was Jose’s only win in their last five games. And United face a tough test against Maurizio Sarri’s joint league leaders.
After the clash against his former team, United host Juventus in the Champions League in a match that will see them face ex-red Devils idol Cristiano Ronaldo.
This weekend, though, United have been boosted for the Chelsea clash by the fitness of Marouane Fellaini.
Fellaini has been used in a variety of ways by Mourinho, either as a supersub targetman when chasing games, or as an extra body in defence.
The 30-year-old Belgium midfielder sat out Tuesday night’s 1-1 international friendly draw with Holland Boss Roberto Martinez says: “He should be fine, it’s just he wasn’t 100 percent.
“He’s got an important game at the weekend and this wasn’t the game to use players who weren’t 100 percent. We expect he should be fine in the next couple of days.”
Meanwhile, leftback Luke Shaw is set to miss the match, and there are doubts over midfielder Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay.
