Cape Town City turn their attention to the Nedbank Cup this weekend ahead of their last-16 clash against Highlands Park.
The Citizens will be hoping to add another piece of silverware to the MTN8 title they won earlier this season.
But to do that coach Benni McCarthy has urged his manne to start scoring goals again after their frustrating 1-0 loss at AmaZulu on Saturday.
Benni was bedonnerd after his team dominated in Durban, but somehow fired blanks.
And ahead of Friday’s 8pm clash at Cape Town Stadium, Benni wants his team to bring their scoring boots.
He says: “We focus now on the Nedbank Cup. We have a home tie. I think our team is getting stronger. We got a good couple of days to prepare and hopefully, we can kick on and bring our scoring boots. We want to score goals again.”
Benni is expecting some more competition for places in the team this week with a number of players back from suspension and injury.
The Citizens' defence will get a definite boost with the return of in-form centreback Taariq Fielies and versatile backliner Edmilson Dove.
