Kaizer Chiefs will be out to avenge their 2-1 PSL defeat to bitter rivals Orlando Pirates in the Telkom Knockout Cup semifinal on Saturday (3 pm).
The big Soweto derby will take place on neutral ground at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
And Amakhosi’s Colombian forward Leonardo Castro admits that they are still hurting from the league Soweto derby defeat to their rivals at the end of last month.
He explains: “It’s special to play Orlando Pirates in the semifinal.
“It promises to be an interesting match and we have to take it, as we want to go through.
“Every trophy is important.
“We made a few mistakes [in the last encounter]. We didn’t really play good football on the day.
“However, we have since worked hard on fixing those mistakes and we are positive to get a result on Saturday.
“We don’t want to miss out on an opportunity to reach a cup final, although we will take it step-by-step.”
The winner of the derby will face either Baroka or Wits, who play in the other final-four clash on Sunday (3 pm).
Wits boss Gavin Hunt will have to make-do without veteran centreback Robyn Johannes, who is missing because of suspension.
And Hunt knows his absence is a big blow, saying: “He [Johannes] has been our best player this season actually I think he has been the best player in South Africa.”
